Discover Briar Patch Microschool

Briar Patch Microschool is a program designed for children between the ages of 3 - 5 years old. Children must be 3 years old by September 1 of the school year. If your child is 5 turning 6, they must be 5 years old for the duration of the school year.

Children need to be completely toilet independent before enrolling at Briar Patch Microschool. If the child has a medical condition that prohibits them from being toilet trained, please let us know. 

Briar Patch Microschool focuses on creating a rich and memorable childhood with our nature forward learning. Our main curriculum is rooted in the Montessori Method, but we also incorporate philosophies from Reggio-Emilia Approach and Waldorf. We are dedicated to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for every child. 

Briar Patch Microschool will refer to the Perkins-Tryon School District for guidelines on closure due to inclement weather, but ultimately, we will make our own decision on inclement weather closures. Snow and weather closures are non-refundable and will not incur a tuition credit.

In order to attend Briar Patch Microschool, your child must be:

Free of any fever for 24-hours
Free of any vomiting for 24-hours

If your child is exhibiting any symptoms (runny nose, cough, sneezing, etc.) Please alert us to discuss severity to determine if your child is well enough to attend program that day.
